Descriptive Writing - Squirrel VS Eagle

Room 7 watched an awesome you tube clip showing a squirrel running away from an eagle. We used our descriptive language to describe what happened. These are the beginnings of our descriptions.


The rusty red leaves fall from the tree as if a rock fell off a cliff and onto the ground. A squirrel pops up and starts scampering through the leaves. "Crunch!". He starts scavenging for food. Rustling through the crunchy leaves, jumping from branch to branch he finds food. His beady eye, as black as night, was searching for any danger. He didn't look close enough and something that was spying on him.
Sharp vicious talons have a grip on the branch. The squirrel takes no notice and continues eating his nut. At that very moment, an eagle flies to another tree. The squirrel had just finished his nut and starts searching for another one. The eagle jumps to another branch to take a closer look...the eagle attacks!! The squirrel takes notice and decides to try and run away. As the two were chasing each other, jumping to branches, the squirrel finds a dray.

The leaves fell slowly...a squirrel pops up out of nowhere. The squirrel scampers and starts climbing a tree and his beady eyes eye up some nuts. He starts to scavenge for some nuts.
Two black beady eyes and razor sharp talons appear. It's an eagle hunting for something to feast on. Suddenly the eagle takes flight and eyes down the squirrel. The eagle swoops to another branch. It sees the squirrel climbing a tree....

The colourful leaves floating down on the ground. The squirrel pops up and scampers through the beautiful leaves. The eagle looks at the squirrel with his beady eye, looking hungry. The squirrel quickly runs away into his dray. The eagle tries to fit in the dray but he's too ginormous. He heads off. The eagle chasing the squirrel because he's hungry.

The sound of the crinkly colourful leaves falling from giant tall trees. A brown squirrel pops up and scampers through the leaves. The speedy squirrel ran up the dirty tree. At the top of the tree there are sharp pointy talons. The squirrel is munching on a tasty nut. When the golden eagle sees the squirrel, the eagle gets ready to dive. The squirrel sees the eagle and runs away. The golden eagle starts to fly down as the squirrel runs.
